Catholic Health Initiatives has awarded a $56,000 grant to form a Violence Prevention Coalition in the county. Community Partners has contracted with Angie Thompson to conduct “key informant interviews” in all Buffalo County communities to learn about the “bullying issue” through the eyes of our resdients. Within the next 60 days we will organize a new Violence Prevention Coalition to host a one day session to build a community-wide plan for violence prevention, using the information capture in the interviews. This will be our lead coalition for the 2020 Vision – Injury Free Prevention Strategy. Individuals interested in joining this new initiative should contact Denise Zwiener at 308-865-2280. Check back for more information as this coalition is established.
