Dear Buffalo County Community,

As we celebrate our community’s accomplishments in  2010, we wish to thank you for your volunteer time and financial support of the Buffalo County Community Partners.  We are witness to your grand works every day.

We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate with you.  Our organization reports that teen seat belt use continues to increase, and we have witnessed lowered youth substance abuse rates.  We are beginning to see adult risky behaviors declining in the area of alcohol and tobacco use, following the youth trend.  We are learning new avenues to increase healthy eating and physical activity to combat the ever increasing obesity epidemic.  We are working diligently on the ever growing gap in health access, utilizing new and innovative approaches that are proven effective in other rural communities across the nation.

The Buffalo County Youth Advisory Board (YAB) dedicated their time to improving adult and youth relationships by launching the first Central Nebraska Youth 4 Youth Conference.  YAB continues to drive the message to other youth to  “Take A Stand”.  Join them at the Tri City Storm Hockey Game on Saturday, January 1st to TAKE A STAND in Buffalo County.

The Community Partners Board has been working to develop a VISION from the comments heard in 2009 Town Hall Meetings to launch a Buffalo County 2020 Vision.  Stay tuned in 2011 to learn more.

Accept our thanks for all you do in Buffalo County to build a healthier community.
Take time to celebrate your successes in 2010.   We look forward to a grand 2011.
