The Be Safe Be Smart taskforce brings partners together to promote safe messaging surrounding Kearney Cruise Nite activities. This year partners came together to re-engage their collective plan to reinforce the message to keep Kearney Cruise Nite a safe, fun, family-friendly environment. Partners sent messages to local landlords and retailers asking them to help promote safe messaging.

“We appreciate the assistance from our allied agencies, community partners and event organizers toward this goal. I couldn’t be prouder of the Kearney Police Department, preparation for this event requires months of planning, additional staff, equipment and resources. All of our staff once again stepped up to the task,” said Chief Brian Waugh, Kearney Police Department.

I think this year’s Cruise Nite Week went very well. We had record attendance at several of our events. Thanks “Be Safe; Be Smart.” It feels good to be back to near normal,” said Brad Kernick, Central Nebraska Auto Club.

We saw great work from a variety of amazing partners all working together around a shared agenda to create a safe and family friendly Cruise Nite weekend.
