Buffalo County schools will be participating in a county-wide Nebraska SHARP Survey in October this year. This survey is commissioned by the Buffalo County Community Partners who have conducted this same survey in Buffalo County schools since 2000. The survey tool is developed by the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) and is conducted nationally and statewide.
The survey will ask about the health behaviors of students in grades 6th, 8th, and 9-12th. This data can assist the school district by providing outcomes data as they review and revise school policies and monitor the quality educational programs. The questions ask about nutrition, physical activities, injuries, mental health, tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use, and safety.
