Kearney Elks Lodge #984 members distributed over 10,000 Red Ribbon stickers throughout Buffalo County schools on Monday, October 22nd. Additional materials shared were Bully-Free jars, bookmarks, and calendars, all which promote the 40 Developmental Assets. They also gave out Parents, Take A Stand media materials from the Positive Pressure Coalition.
Funding for Red Ribbon Week activities is supported by the Elks Foundation Promise and Beacon Grants, as well as funding from CNCASA and Two Rivers Public Health Department. This year the program was expanded to Holdrege and Phelps County schools, in coordination with the Holdrege Elks Club.
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country, serving as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education.
