Buffalo County Community Partners celebrate this week as campaign donations surpassed the 2015 Annual Fund Campaign Goal of $155,000. Recent donations from local grant making foundations and businesses complete Community Partners final campaign push raising
$160,601.53.
“We are positioned to launch two major initiatives in Buffalo County in 2016, these funds will set the stage for effective implementation,” said executive director Denise Zwiener.
The 2015 goal was $20,000 over the 2014 goal. The expectations were large for Buffalo County, but the support was received. This funding was critical to keep supporting the strategic directions of the Community Partners.
Be Well Buffalo County is a new initiative to build a community culture of well-living invested in social support leading to unconscious change. Funding to launch Be Well this year is due to local support of the Ron and Carol Cope Foundation and CHI Health Community Health Needs Assessment Grant.
Additionally, Buffalo County Community Partners will be facilitating the collaboration needed to launch the Kearney Works project that arose from the America’s Best Community Revitalization competition. “We were surprised by the news that we did not progress through the America’s Best Community competition, however, we are moving forward in 2016 to ensure our community pilot project, Kearney Works, is launched,” stated Zwiener. “Community support in these efforts is important to successful implementation.”
Candy Kuntz of the campaign family said, “We hit the fundraising goal, thanks to the strong support of generous donors in the community! As, a family, we were so excited to take this opportunity to work with a great organization and introduce our children to the principles of giving back and helping others in need.”
Schrock Chiropractic and Acupuncture donated $1,500 this week toward the Annual Campaign. They ran a month long donation drive for us. We are so appreciative of the support they give to us!
Last week we also secured the $10,000 Ron and Carol Cope foundation grant for our Be Well group. This will go towards creating wellness in the community. A grant from CHI Health just recently came in for $15,000 dedicated to the Be Well Program as well. A special thank you to grant writer, Lesley LaFile and CHI Health Good Samaritan Team for supporting this work.
These few last pushes of funding are so very appreciated by Community Partners. We have been dedicated to strengthening and promoting health in Buffalo County for the last 20 years, and nothing has changed our mission. We are so thankful to all who help to create a healthier Buffalo County.
