One of the breakout groups at the YAB meeting discusses potential community service projects.

At the August Youth Advisory Board meeting, YAB members split into groups and discussed community service projects to do during Walk in the Copes’ Shoes. The community-wide volunteerism event will be held September 12 and 13, and the YABBERs have quite a list of projects they plan to work on.
Their projects are:

  • Visiting with the elderly and assisting however they can.
  • Helping the local Crisis Center.
  • Community beautification, including planting flowers and cleaning up trash near new construction areas.
  • Collecting funds and items to donate to the S.A.F.E. Center.

The YABBERs will be documenting their efforts and sharing them online. Check out YAB on the internet at their website, Facebook, and Twitter  to stay up to date on all the exciting things the board is doing this year.
