KEARNEY – The Kearney Works recently hired Stan Zimbelman as the first Executive Director. His first day with the new nonprofit will be December 1.
He has more than 26 years of workforce development experience working for the Nebraska Department of Labor in their Grand Island, Norfolk and Kearney offices since 1990.
Zimbelman, who is a Kearney native, lives in Kearney with his wife and has been commuting to Grand Island since the Nebraska Department of Labor closed the Kearney office in 2008.
“I’m so excited to help launch Kearney Works,” said Zimbelman,” “I was privileged to work with the great people in Kearney for years and was excited to learn of the creation of Kearney Works. I know I can make a difference for my community by being able to hit the ground running.”
The Kearney Works office will be located at Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska, located at 16 W. 11th Street.
Kearney Works, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation organized to provide workforce development services in Kearney, Nebraska, and the surrounding area. It will aid unemployed and underemployed workers in the area who need to improve labor and soft skills in order to be qualified to fill available jobs.
